Transcript:
Applicants are required to demonstrate successful completion of a bachelor’s degree (or degree in-progress*) from an accredited college or university.
SOPHAS requires that you submit official transcripts from each institution attended regardless of the number of courses/credits taken. Transcripts must be submitted directly to SOPHAS; documents must be original and sent by paper mail to the following address:
SOPHAS Transcript Processing Center
P.O. Box 9111
Watertown, MA 02471
Please do not send transcripts to the Brown School during the application process.
SOPHAS has very specific transcript requirements – please review the instructions carefully and provide ample time for process and verification of transcripts.
*In-Progress degree transcripts: If you have not completed your bachelor’s degree at the time of application, please submit transcripts showing the work you have completed to date to SOPHAS. An admissions decision will be rendered, however any offer of admission is contingent upon successful completion of your degree. If admitted to the program, you will be required to provide your final official transcript directly to the Brown School.
Curriculum Vitae:
In addition to completing the ‘Experience’ and ‘Achievements’ sections of the SOPHAS application, you must submit a comprehensive resume or curriculum vitae
Personal Statement:
Submit an essay that discusses significant factors influencing your decision to pursue a Master of Public Health degree. Your essay should include information regarding career goals and leadership experiences that will contribute to your success as a graduate student and in the public health profession. Include why the Brown School is a good fit for your educational goals. Your personal statement should be approximately two pages, single-spaced and specific to the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis.

SOPHAS requires that you provide information for a minimum of three references to receive requests for recommendations (evaluations) to be submitted electronically. The Brown School will review your application with two evaluations submitted, providing all other parts of the application are complete.
