Transcript:
Scanned copies of transcripts are now being accepted.
Curriculum Vitae:
A theatrical resume may also be included, but is not required.
Personal Statement:
A statement of purpose, which assists the admissions committee in assessing your preparedness to undertake a serious course of study leading to new research. Thus, while it may be useful to know that you have varied experience, this should not just reiterate information on either an academic vita or professional resume. Focus on your goals for the future, reasons for wanting to undertake a doctoral degree, and an understanding of your project or areas of research interests.
Recommendation Letter:
Three letters of recommendation, preferably from people who are familiar with your recent work.
Writing Sample:
A critical writing sample, demonstrating your ability to do scholarly research. A term paper, portion of honors or MA thesis, or similar analytical expository work is preferred.
