Transcript:
Transcript(s) - Unofficial transcripts should be uploaded within the online Graduate Education Student Portal for evaluation purposes only.
Should you be offered admittance, we MUST have official sealed and stamped; certification of graduation, degree granting diploma or transcripts from every university or college that you have ever attended, in both original and English language right away. Not submitting this information will cause delay and possible removal of your admittance.
Should you be offered admittance, Chinese students MUST obtain verification of transcripts and graduation certificates from the China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center (CDGDC). Students should send copies of their documents along with payment to CDGDC. The CDGDC verifies grades and degrees and then sends via carrier service directly to the Chemistry Department.
Please note that if you are admitted and have not received a degree granting transcript, you will also need to use this process again during your first semester at MSU.

Personal Statement:
The Personal Statement is your opportunity to tell the admissions committee more about you and why we should offer you admitance to our program. Don’t sell yourself short. A good statement introduces you and your interest in chemistry. Please keep your essay to two single-spaced pages.
Our admissions committee looks at a lot of applications, so strive to be clear, complete, and concise; don't assume we know what you are talking about, particularly when it comes to acronyms or regional programs and awards. Don't make us hunt for information about you. Give us a clear picture of what makes you different and separates you from other applicants.
Be sure to address any GPA or test score discrepancies or deficiencies by explaining the circumstances that affected your performance (e.g., illness, death in the family, working to support yourself).
