Recommendation Letter:
At least three letters of recommendation. Please have your letter writers submit the letters through your application. Note: We accept hard copies of letters of recommendation and letters through Interfolio. If you choose this option, then you must complete the two sections of the Paper Letter of Recommendation/Waiver of Access Form below the "Applicant" heading. Then, you must print out the entire form, and mail it to your recommender. Your recommender should complete the form and mail the form to the Philosophy Department at 85 Humanities Instructional Building, Irvine, CA 92697-4555. Please go visit letters of recommendation page on the Graduate Division's website for more details.
Writing Sample:
Applicants are required to submit a writing sample in any area of philosophy. Writing samples must be sent via email at uciphilosapp@gmail.com. The document should be PDF format, with the file name labeled the following: Last Name, First Name - Writing Sample (i.e, Stacy, Gwyn - Writing Sample). The subject line should say "Ph.D Application Writing Sample - Last Name, First Name (i.e, Ph.D Application Writing Sample - Prince, Diana)
