PLEASE DO NO SEND your official transcripts or Mark Sheets and Degree Certificate in hard copy until after you have received the conditional offer of admission letter from the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research. AFTER you have been accepted, arrange to have 1 official transcript (domestic) or Mark Sheets and Degree Certificate (international) sent to the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research and 1 sent to the Department of Art & Design. Statement of intent: Up to 2 pages which describe your current work, a detailed description of your research interests and what you hope to accomplish during the program.
Recommendation Letter:
Recommendation Letters: You require 3. Once you submit the email addresses of your referees, they will receive an automated message with instructions on how to submit their letters.
Writing Sample:
Writing Sample: Up to 25 pages for MA and PhD applicants only.
Portfolio:
Applicants to the MDes and MFA programs must also submit a portfolio of 12 to 15 good quality images to the Department of Art & Design.
Submit your portfolio on the application system as a PDF document in Department Check 4, or as a shared Google Drive folder that specifies program and specialization to: dmclean@ualberta.ca
MFA applicants should place image information (title,height,width,depth) within the document under each image.
